CG Overdrive 2007 (Silver Sponsor Wacom) a raging success

The week-long graphics conference CG Overdrive 2007, in its second year, ended successfully on June 22 attracting participants and high profile exhibitors from around the globe including Japan and USA. The event, one of the largest conferences and exhibitions in Asia for computer graphics, included an exhibition of digital art recognized in the CG Excellence Award, short film screenings, conferences, recruitment drive and software clinics.

Like last year, studios, professional animators, students, CG enthusiasts and general public were eager to receive and share latest information on the CG industry and business. Many aspiring young animators were also attracted by the recruitment drive by world-renowned film/CGI studios from Japan and USA.

As the Silver Sponsor of the event, Wacom Singapore's booth was filled with demo units of the professional Intuos3 series and the Cintiq 21UX Interactive Pen Display attracting hordes of conference attendees seeking to improve their animation skills to a professional level. Wacom promoters impressed the crowd with demonstrations of the unique features, effects, quality of work and performance of the tablets. Many jumped at the opportunity to experience firsthand the world's most sophisticated tools for digital creation.

The Wacom Authorised Training Centre also organized two very well received clinics to highlight creative usage of Intuos3 and Cintiq with Adobe PhotoShop.

Nearby, two other large regional events, CommunicAsia and BroadCast Asia, were held during the same period. Industry-leading companies from around the world were present showcasing their latest technologies in telecommunication and broadcasting. Wacom is proud to learn that many of these leading companies used Intuos3 tablets in their demonstrations of key products.
