 Over 1000 people are expected to attend ANIFEST INDIA ’06, a two-day festival organized by animators for animators, and Wacom will be there as one of the sponsors of the TASI (The Animation Society of India) Viewer’s Choice Awards. Organizers have planned workshops and presentations about 2D classical animation, clay animation, 3D computer animation and visual effects by prominent studios and artists in addition to screenings of animated films by students and professionals. A selected panel of judges will nominate several works and winners will be voted on by event participants to receive Wacom Graphire3 tablets among other prizes.
That’s not all! In addition to lunch and dinner, the admission fee to the event features music by a live rock band and DJ! This event provides animators with a non-commercial venue to interact as animators. “The idea is to promote growth and development thru positive interaction cutting across studio loyalties,” says the Honorary Secretary of TASI, Ranjit 'Tony' Singh.
The event is scheduled to take place on April 29 – 30 at the KC College Auditorium in Churchgate, Mumbai (behind the Ritz Hotel). Lunch and snacks will be served on 4/29, and dinner and drinks will be served on 4/30.
